The Great Gain

My life sings JOY over Word-Filled Wednesday!!!!

In a world where happiness trumps holiness,
where wrong feels right and right is all about feelings,
where money, money, money
keeps us singing, spending, striving,
where "enough" is NOT
and "plenty" is relative,

God's Word interrupts...
Father God, You define enough, and it is You. Thank You for giving us everything that we need for life and for Godliness, and for the working of the Holy Spirit to produce contentment with our circumstances. Lead us to confess our sins, to turn from them, and to surrender our very lives to You this day.
In Your all-sufficient name I pray, Amen.

This is a very timely piece of scripture. I pray that perhaps these difficult and uncertain times may bring families back to what is really important this season. This scripture speaks right to that.

And the congregation said, "AMEN"
God is so good. I could write a thousand posts on how He has provided for my family. For example, just the other day my husband and I had 3 couples that are struggling financially put on our hearts and felt led to give them all Publix gift cards.(The same was done for us when my husband was laid off and we were struggling), about 2 hours after deciding this the phone rings and it's my husbands boss asking him if he wanted to work yesterday,(a holiday which means time and a half). So not only did we get our money right back but then some. This is just one of many of how God has provided through us or for us.
Great post my friend and sorry for the lengthy comment!
Hugs.

We can only be content resting in Him...trusting in His love, His sovereignty, His faithfulness...just like a babe rests content in His mother's arms..safe from the storms around...may we rest contentedly..thank you, LauraLee..

OH! To be able to live this verse. My mother has a vision/dream of a little cabin in heaven -- and she beleives with all her heart that the cabin is her eternal home... WOW I think she "gets" this verse.
Thank you!
Happy WFW!

Amen Laura Lee...You have put a song in my heart of JOY as my first WFW for the day. HE IS ENOUGH isn't He? It is so sad to see from the world's view of money, greed, and even feelings. Your first words were so very true and expressed so clearly add a beautiful photo & verse...with a prayer = the perfect WFW! Enjoy WFW & the week ahead!

Oh what a great verse. It's a verse that gives a glimpse of the Christian faith in a nutshell don't you think? The world says you have to have more, be in control and it's all about you and having what youwant. Jesus says, whoever loses his life will have it. I wish I oculd find the verse that goes with this but you get the idea.

thanks for sharing,
Stefani
