Picture-Perfect Pause

Happy Word-Filled Wednesday!

If you could paint a picture-perfect place to take a "selah," what would it look like? By "selah" I mean a place to stop and reflect on your faith walk.

For me, it would look much like this picture my friend Peter let me borrow, which serves as the background for this week's WFW.

Truth be told, when I ponder a picture-perfect pause, it almost always has this sort of scene associated with it. To lay reclined against that grassy hill, looking out over the blue waters reading my Bible, praying with my eyes open wide would be the ultimate Selah experience for this visual worshipper.

But oh, what I truly desire--is picture-perfect fellowship with my Savior. Nothing compares to that scene. To lay reclined in His strong arms, looking out over whatever situation I need to face, having Him speak His Word to me as I seek Him with my heart's eyes open wide...THAT is the daily Selah experience for this visual worshipper. And it is a glorious one when I choose it.

I'm going to dive more into what "Selah" means in the days to come. I used to think it meant "to pause," but it is sooooo much more than that. I'm wondering if I were to "Selah" each and every one of the Scriptures I read today, what a difference it would make in my life. Something to ponder...

Something to ponder indeed my friend. I think that in each stage of life we have more or less time to truly Selah. When I can truly enter into that rest and praise I LOVE it!!!
Great post my friend and I Look forward to hearing more about Selah!

Hey, LauraLee!
I love your new look and the new title--selah! Awesome! My place or selah is either on a high mountain top overlooking other mountain ranges or on a trail run where the sun is filtering through the morning mist between the trees. I've actually made my running buddies stop for this!! I simply told them it was a God moment. I had to pray on the run though! No stopping!

Hugs,
susan

Beautiful WFW! Love that word...Selah. Due to a recent surgery, I'm finding myself in the midst of such a time. It's been such a gift.

Lovely all the way around, LauraLee! I look so forward to Selah'ing this weekend. I wish I had a wide-open space and a picture perfect place like the one you shared to spend that time in. Oh, to be propped up on a hill with my Bible, my iPod with praise songs, and just to have the beauty of the Lord's earth surrounding me.

Happy WFW, my friend.

"Selah" LauraLee...blessings...this is the perfect scene & verse for PAUSE, PONDER & PRAISE Him and so creatively chosen & done making this a PICTURE PERFECT PAUSE!

Your words fill my day with His Presence! I came when I heard that you were changing and I loved it as your header opened on Monday but today I LOVE be awakened even more to this sheer beauty & new look!

You truly DO fill & anoint this place with His Praises! I will try
the "SELAH" in each and every WORD that flows from scripture into my heart! Thank you for such inspiration!

Perhaps you were part of my decision that I too have come to but for different reasons and perhaps some of the same (that's what my lengthy post today is about) much like yours on Monday!
I have not gotten into Facebook, My Space, etc. for much the same reason...not to be on line 24/7, it can consume you. I wish I was one of your 10-12 blogs, but maybe when I see you at the WFW after EASTER
we can encourage & pour into each other more...(lol)

I totally understand...and I don't even have kids,or a paying job just dogs...and MEXICO!

I pray that you will enJOY your PAUSE!

Hi Laura,
Now you are reading my mind!
I love to wait on Jesus and meditate on His eternal love for me, and picture myself as His child, snuggled against Him, just as my children snuggle against me when we watch a movie together.

Wonderful Laura! I'm so glad we can be resting in Him without having to get to some physical place of peace like in Peter's picture! So wonderful!
Huggles!
